Sienna Evans, who used to date Shep Rose, is retaliating following her portrayal as an alleged “villain” during the tenth season of Southern Charm.
26-year-old Miss Bahamas World recently used social media, on February 19th, to clarify her portrayal in the Bravo series and dispel rumors that she pursued a relationship with Whitney Sudler-Smith, a costar of Rose’s, before beginning her romance with him.
Evans expressed his intention to clarify any misunderstandings and share his perspective in a TikTok video, mentioning that others have had their say but he hasn’t been given the chance to express his viewpoint. He feels it’s crucial and important. Furthermore, he mentioned that there has been a lot of confusion and, to put it frankly, a lot of misinformation and falsehoods. He feels it’s time for him to address these issues.
In early 2024, Evans and Rose began their relationship while it remained long-distance, eventually ending it in the fall. Their relationship’s highs and lows were portrayed during season 10 of Southern Charm, with some cast members questioning Evans’ reasons for dating Rose, as they pointed out that her grandmother was a devoted fan of the show. (Evans herself stated during a season 10 episode that her grandmother is “basically the president of the Southern Charm fan club.”)
Evans, however, slammed those claims on Wednesday, clarifying how her romance with Rose came to be.
In a later TikTok video, she shared that she first encountered Shep on the app Raya. At first glance, his profile suggested a charming southern gentleman who enjoyed fishing. Later, he messaged her saying he often visited the Bahamas, which intrigued her. She found him appealing and they began exchanging messages on Instagram. This is how their connection started.
Additionally, Evans refuted whispers suggesting that she initiated contact with Sudler-Smith, 56, on the dating app initially prior to linking up with Rose. She claimed it was actually Sudler-Smith who made the direct approach towards her first.
On a dating app, there are people you can choose to connect or ignore. This individual didn’t even appear on my list, instead he directly messaged me with a simple “Hi, how are you?” To which I responded, “I’m good, how are you?” However, according to her statement, that was the full extent of our conversation with Whitney initially.
Evans mentioned that when she eventually visited Charleston, the location where Southern Charm is filmed, to meet up with Rose, she “could not recall” Sudler-Smith or even remember they had matched, attributing it to him appearing different in his online pictures.
She explained, “It was Shep who mentioned, ‘Whitney claims he matched with you on Raya,’ and then I checked my messages and thought, ‘Ah, he’s a catfish. He bears no resemblance to this in real life.’ So yes, that’s how we crossed paths, and let me clarify this once and for all – the idea that I approached Whitney to be on the show is completely false.
In another video, Evans discussed a request from a fan for evidence or timelines related to “the Whitney matter.” She then displayed an alleged direct message exchange between them, dating back to March 2023. To clarify, she stated, “I’m not a deceiver. I wouldn’t lie about this and I wouldn’t have mentioned it if it weren’t true. As I explained earlier, when I saw him, I didn’t recognize him because he was a complete catfish and our interaction wasn’t significant enough for it to register.
She titled the video, “Presenting My Evidence,” incorporating hashtags for #SouthernCharm, #Bravo, and herself along with Rose’s name.
In her last TikTok post, Evans explained that she initially turned down an invitation from Rose to visit him in South Carolina. They had agreed that perhaps they might meet someday, possibly in some far-off destination since they both enjoy traveling extensively. At the time, she was unaware of their acquaintance or their involvement on the reality show, ‘Southern Charm.’
Although the exact timing of their meeting remains uncertain, it’s known that Evans did travel to Charleston during season 10 filming before Rose and the rest of the cast departed for the Bahamas. The episode aired on February 12, and it depicted Evans not appearing at the airport to welcome Rose, but rather arranging to meet him later at the hotel instead.
During an interview on Southern Charm’s After Show, Rose expressed her feelings by saying, “This is who I am, and this is my essence or whatever you’d like to label it. And I felt, ‘You’re playing games here. It’s my turn to drive the bus.’ In no way do I want to cause trouble, but I was quite upset about the situation.
Rose mentioned that he felt deeply disappointed since he considered the pair to be seriously investing in their relationship. “She was supposed to join my entire family for a trip to Italy,” he explained, “and we were planning to attend a Coldplay concert in Milan before meeting up with my family in Positano. Isn’t that indicative of a relationship? I mean, who arranges such plans if not for a significant relationship?
