Olivia, 27, shared on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, September 30, that this episode was recorded some time in the past. She also mentioned that tonight’s episode-the season 7 finale of the TLC series-will be her last.

She then stated, “I’ve put in a lot of effort to end my contract-and I was successful!” (Olivia and Ethan, 27, revealed they were divorcing in October 2023 after being married for five years. She officially filed for divorce the next February.)

Oh my gosh, you guys, Olivia – she’s amazing! – she told everyone what she’s been doing since she first appeared on TLC back in 2019. Basically, she said she hasn’t just tried to ignore all the negativity and bullying, but she’s actually been reporting it and really trying to do the right thing! It’s so inspiring, honestly. She’s really been standing up for what’s right, and I’m so proud of her for that!

Olivia expressed strong disapproval of Welcome to Plathville, stating, “Seeing violence, hatred, and family problems portrayed as something to enjoy really upsets me.” She appeared to be talking about the difficulties her ex-husband Ethan’s family has faced in recent seasons.

Before Olivia and Ethan ended their difficult relationship, she clashed with his family. Since the breakup, she has spoken out about the claims of domestic violence and abuse she experienced while they were married.

She had previously stated on Instagram in March that Ethan had threatened to “shoot” her friends, alleging he believed they were pushing her towards more liberal views. She also claimed he would “spit on [her] face” and physically intimidate her during disagreements, “back[ing] [her] into corners”.

Us Weekly has contacted TLC for a statement and also previously contacted Ethan regarding the claims.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following Olivia’s journey, and while she’s been largely off-screen this season of the reality show – she *will* be making an appearance on the finale to talk about wrapping up her divorce from Ethan – she took some time on Tuesday to share her thoughts on her experience with the network and the family she became a part of. It’s always interesting to see how people reflect on these intense experiences, and I’m sure the finale will be very revealing.

“Looking back on the past seven (!) years with this show brings up a lot of feelings,” she posted on her Instagram Story. “I really feel like I came of age with all of you watching and cheering me on. When the show began, I was very sheltered, recently married, and part of a very religious upbringing, and I hadn’t yet figured out who I was.”

Olivia reflected, “The past seven years haven’t been easy, and there were times I doubted I’d get through them. But I’m here now, showing myself that I could.”

The TV star, who is currently seeing someone named Brendan, shared that, “Ending this part of my life is a little difficult.”

Olivia then appeared to reflect on how Ethan had changed after their divorce. She wrote, “It’s heartbreaking to see the person I used to know, the possibilities they once had, and the direction they ultimately took. Things really could have turned out differently.”

She stated, “If things had turned out differently, I wouldn’t have reached my current position. I’m thankful for this experience and everything I’ve learned from it.”

Even though she’s kept her distance from the show and the Plath family for the last year, Olivia shared with her followers that she’s planning to mark the end of this chapter with a question-and-answer session for fans.

Instead of ending our discussion, I’d like to open it up for questions from YOU!” she finished. “I’m still bound by a confidentiality agreement, but I’ll answer as much as I’m able to and be as open as possible!!”
