Even though Ahsoka season 2 isn’t coming out until 2027, we have a pretty good sense of what to expect. The first season’s finale strongly suggests the story will focus on Grand Admiral Thrawn and his plan to rebuild the Empire, likely by uniting with surviving Imperial forces from The Mandalorian.
Ezra Bridger’s return to the core Star Wars galaxy means Grand Admiral Thrawn will face opposition not only from him, but also from the New Republic. It’s likely Ezra will team up with Hera Syndulla and others in the New Republic to try and stop Thrawn, though it’s possible they won’t succeed completely. Many believe Thrawn will be the primary villain in Dave Filoni’s upcoming movie, which connects various Star Wars series.
Okay, so Ahsoka and Sabine are still stuck on Peridea, but I think we’ve got a good idea of where things are headed. Baylan Skoll was so close to figuring out the mysteries of that planet, and I’m betting season two of Ahsoka will definitely pick up that thread – you know, his hunt for answers about the Force and those Mortis gods we first saw in The Clone Wars. Ahsoka will probably be focused on stopping Baylan, but she’s also gotta find a way off Peridea and back to help fight Thrawn. It’s a lot, but I’m excited to see how it all plays out!
The second season of Ahsoka could feature more appearances by Anakin Skywalker as a Force ghost. He might help Ahsoka and Sabine track down Baylan Skoll and thwart his plans. This season seems like a perfect opportunity to explore the idea of balance within the Force in greater detail. Ultimately, the future of the galaxy and the Force itself hangs in the balance, making the wait for season two even more difficult.
