However, Kelsey Grammer needed to see her act first, so he asked her to do a private scene reading with him.
She found out she got the job just a moment later. Peter Casey, one of the show’s creators, recalled in a 2018 Vanity Fair interview: “We were left waiting, feeling anxious, when the door suddenly opened. Kelsey rushed past us and announced, without even looking back, ‘She’s been hired.'”
Daphne Moon became a fan favorite on the show and played a big part in Jane Leeves winning awards like an Emmy and a Golden Globe. Leeves also formed close relationships with her co-stars; David Hyde Pierce is the godfather to her children, Peri Gilpin lives nearby, and she supported Peri during childbirth.
