It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Collins, a cherished husband, son, brother, and uncle, who lost his battle with glioblastoma after fighting bravely.
The family shared that Jason had a profound impact on many people, inspiring both those close to him and those who followed his journey. They expressed gratitude for the support and prayers received during his eight-month battle, as well as the wonderful care he received from his medical team. They will deeply miss him.
After Jason’s death was announced, his sister-in-law, Elsa Collins – who is married to Jason’s twin brother, Jarron – shared details about his last months. Jason was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer, glioblastoma, in November 2025. Elsa posted a video on Instagram of a touching speech she gave to Jason at a pre-Thanksgiving dinner, just before he traveled to Singapore for treatment.
“I’m so happy we could spend this time together,” she said. “It means a lot to me that we got to do this before you leave for Singapore. You know I love you like family, and I realize that I’ve known you for just as long as I’ve been with Jarron.”
Elsa, 46, went on to praise Jason for mentoring her and Jarron’s three kids.
She expressed deep gratitude for Jason’s presence in their lives, both past and future. She believes they’ve become wonderful people thanks to everyone here, and especially highlighted that Jason’s impact as a beloved ‘Tio’ (uncle) is immeasurable and hopes he understands how much he means to them.
