ショーランナーのシェリル・J・アンダーソンによると、タイラー・”タイ”・タウンゼントを演じるカーソン・ローランドは、Netflixドラマのシーズン5には出演しないことを選択したと、番組の6月11日のプレミア公開前にUs Weeklyに確認した。
タイと彼の親友アニー（アンネリーゼ判事）は、シーズン 4 でついにお互いの気持ちを認めました。これは、彼らを応援していたファンにとって夢の実現でした。タイの降板にも関わらず、番組の制作者は魅力的な新しいストーリーを計画していることを視聴者に保証している。

At the end of last season, Ty was facing a difficult decision after his father passed away. He had to choose between going on a world tour with his bandmate, Olivia (Tommi Rose), and staying near Serenity to pursue his growing relationship with Annie. Things ended badly between them when Ty asked Annie to put her college plans on hold and join him on tour in Europe.
Details about how season 5 will resolve the events of the previous season are still being kept secret, but actress Katee Judge hopes fans will approach Annie’s storyline with an open mind. She shared with Us Weekly that while the direction of the story might not be what viewers anticipate, she believes it will be emotionally resonant and worth experiencing alongside the cast and crew.
The judge also noted that the entire cast is behind Rowland and looking forward to his future career successes.
Oh my gosh, she said he has so many amazing things coming up! I’m seriously thrilled for him. He’s just such a wonderful person, a really close friend, and honestly, seeing him succeed makes all of us so happy. We’re all rooting for him, always!
Even though Ty isn’t currently on Serenity, Judge still remembers how much Ty and Annie’s relationship meant to her and helped shape who she is.
She shared how important Ty and Annie’s relationship has been for Annie’s character development, calling it a truly special part of the show to portray. She also praised Ty as a kind, generous, and fun co-star, saying she enjoys spending time with him both on and off set. While acknowledging it’s sad to see their storyline end, she’s also excited about what’s next.
Judge is looking forward to seeing Annie grow beyond her relationship with Ty. She believes the fifth season will allow her character to discover who she is as an individual, separate from the romance.
She described the story as one where we see the main character grow as she meets new people who push her to reconsider her life and how she sees the world.
Regarding Ty’s potential return to Serenity if Sweet Magnolias gets a sixth season, Anderson says it’s still possible and hasn’t been ruled out.
When asked if Rowland might return, she smiled and said she always believes in keeping possibilities open. She expressed hope that they’ll get to see what happens and who might come their way in the future.
Sweet Magnolias season 5 premieres on Netflix Thursday, June 11.
